Goerz (C.P. Goerz Vienna)
Carl Paul Goerz (1854-1923) founded his own company after working for both Emil Busch and
Krauss in 1886. The company was very successful, and branches were opened in a number of
cities, including the US and Vienna. The German camera industry was hit hard after World War I,
and the main branch of Georz merged with a number of other firms to create Zeiss Ikon. The US
and Vienna branches remained independant. This branch of Goerz only produced one series of
cameras, the Minicord, but it was an interesting and innovative one.
