An online guide to collectable cameras and related stuff

In the 1940s Spartus bought Utility Manufacturing, which had been marketing a line of inexpensive cameras. During this time the company operated under a number of different names, including Falcon Camera Company, Spencer Co as well as Spartus. In 1951, they in turn were bought by its sales manager, Harold Rubin, who changed the name to Herold Manufacturing Co.

The former president of Spartus, Jack Galter, formed a new company, Galter Products.
