1000/5.6 Zeiss Mirotar for Contarex
The 1000/5.6 Zeiss Mirotar is one of the more impressive things Zeiss Ikon ever built. It is a catradioptic
(mirror) lens. Most 1000mm mirror lenses are f/11. Nippon Kogaku produced one that was f/6.3. This
one is faster yet. Due to it's it's limited application, and it's unbelievably high price, it had the lowest
production of any Contarex lens that went into serial production. It cost $3990 in 1968. A Porsche 912
cost $3925 that year.
The Zeiss product code for the lens is 11.2422.
