50/2.8 Zeiss Tessar for Contarex
The 50/2.8 Tessar in chrome, mounted on a Contarex Special. The Special was often sold with the
Tessar.
The 50/2.8 Tessar was the budget normal lens for the Contarex system. Most people who were worried
about saving $100 were not in the market for the camera in the first place (in the March 1968 price
sheet the Tessar was $89, and the 50/2 Planar was $189). While it isn't exactly a rare lens, it is a lot
less common than the 50mm Planar.
